The Merritt RCMP with the assistance of the South East District Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant in the 1900 block of Morrissey Street, leading to an arrest.
On March 17, 2023, the Merritt RCMP were alerted to an alleged assault and forcible confinement. Through investigation, grounds were obtained for a search warrant at a residence.
On March 18, 2023, the Merritt RCMP with assistance from the South East District Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant in the 1900 block of Morrissey Street in Merritt. Multiple persons were detained and a female suspect suspect was arrested.
On March 19, 2023, Ms. Kristal Lynn Poirier was charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement. She is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing, scheduled for March 21, 2023.
