Surrey RCMP to lace up in support of the Special Olympics BC

Surrey RCMP officers are set to lace up and make a difference for Special Olympics BC.

Surrey RCMP team will join Special Olympics athletes and other members of the community for their Law Enforcement Torch Run event on June 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. This event will include a 1.5km run/walk leaving from outside Surrey RCMP Main Detachment located at 14355 57 Ave, Surrey.

Everyone can join the fun and help raise funds and awareness for athletes with intellectual disabilities by registering here.

This event helps raise important funds necessary for programs that aim to break down barriers, create connections and open hearts and minds to inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, says Superintendent Aaron Paradis, We are very proud to take part in such a worthy event.

For more than 35 years, law enforcement members throughout the world have supported people with intellectual disabilities through the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The LETR movement has raised more than $4 million in British Columbia since 1990. To date, the LETR has raised more than $700 million for Special Olympics programs around the world.
