Surrey RCMP police academy now seeking applicants
2022-05-03 08:33 PDT
Surrey RCMP is now seeking applications for its Citizen and Youth Police Academy, running from September 21 to November 16, 2022, every Wednesday night for 9 weeks.
Youth applications are being accepted from May 2-31, 2022 while adult applications will be available from June 1 – June 30, 2022 from our website.
The Citizen and Youth Police Academy is for Surrey residents, students or business owner with an interest in policing and how the community and police can work together. From Frontline officers to specialized investigations, participants are provided an interactive learning experience where they help solve a mock crime from beginning to end. The overall objective is to strengthen relationships between the community and the police and to enhance public safety in the city.
The Citizen and Youth Police Academy is an excellent opportunity to learn more about law enforcement directly from police officers, says Inspector Harm Dosange, Community Support & Safety Officer.
Each session is designed to be interactive and encourage discussions on how police, youth and residents can work together and contribute to a safer community.
