Surrey RCMP is advising the public that 168 Street is closed between 32 Avenue and 40 Avenue following involving a single vehicle in a ditch with a deceased person located inside.

On December 15, 2021, at 1:12 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle partially submerged in a ditch in the 3700-block of 168 Street. Police and Surrey Fire Service attended the scene and located the vehicle with a deceased driver inside.

The investigation is in the early stages and the cause of the collision has not yet been determined. Road closures on 168 Street in both directions between 32 Avenue and 40 Avenue will be in effect for an undetermined amount of time.

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
