File # 2021-41646

Please note that the suspect in this investigation was identified and the photos removed from our website.

Surrey RCMP is looking for the public’s help to identify a man who assaulted a pregnant woman, in Whalley.

The victim, a pregnant woman, was assaulted after a visit to a bank on 102 Avenue and King George Boulevard, shortly after 11:30 a.m. on March 23, 2021. At that time, an unknown man approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground. It appears that this was an unprovoked assault. The victim was taken to an area hospital for care and fortunately, received only minor physical injuries.

Police are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect in hopes of identifying the man.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, slender build, wearing a sky blue jacket, dark pants, and a grey hat.

This unprovoked assault is very concerning, says Corporal Joanie Sidhu, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer. We are appealing to the public to help us identify the man responsible so we can advance our investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
