Surrey RCMP is at the scene of a motor vehicle collision in the 10400 block of University Drive of Surrey.

On November 21, 2020 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 10400 block of University Drive. A vehicle travelling southbound on University Drive was involved in a collision with an electric bicycle and then ended up hitting a local area business at the intersection of University Drive and 104 Avenue.

The driver of the electric bicycle has been transported to a local area hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. There were few pedestrians walking on the sidewalk at the time of the collision who, fortunately, were able to get out of the way, as the vehicle hit the exterior wall of the business shattering the glass wall.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene, was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, and is co-operating. The incident is still under investigation. The intersection of University Drive and 104 Avenue has been cleared.
