Fatal collision under investigation in Whalley

Surrey RCMP investigators have completed their on-scene investigative activities in response to the collision that occurred around 4:55 pm this evening. 104 Avenue and 126 Street are now reopened to all traffic.

Fatal collision under investigation in Whalley

Surrey RCMP is informing the public of a fatal collision involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the Whalley area this evening.

On November 3 at approximately 4:55 p.m., police responded to a pedestrian struck motor vehicle collision in the 12600 block of 104th Avenue. Surrey Fire Services and BC Ambulance Service also responded. Despite all attempts to revive the 70-year-old male, he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined time as officers continue their investigation.

104 Avenue is shut down for all east and westbound traffic between 125A Street to the west and 128 Street to the east. Northbound traffic on 126 street is also shut down at 103 Avenue.

The public are requested to avoid the area until further notice. The investigation into the collision is in its early stages. Investigators are seeking witnesses who observed the collision to contact the Surrey RCMP. Investigators are also seeking any available dash-cam video.
