Surrey RCMP investigate shots fired in Cloverdale

At approximately 8:44 p.m. on October 18th, 2020, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 18300 block of 80 Avenue. Officers attended to the area and located evidence to support that shots had been fired in the area.

At 8:48 p.m., the Langley RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle heading to a local hospital with two parties suffering from gun shot wounds. It was determined that these subjects were associated to the shooting on 80 Avenue and all information has been passed on to the Surrey RCMP.

At 9:03 p.m., the Surrey RCMP received a report of a vehicle on fire in the 16500 block of Northview Crescent. Evidence suggests that this vehicle is associated to the shooting.

Surrey Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation into this matter.

The investigation is still in its early stages and investigators are reviewing all available details to determine exactly what happened and what lead up to these events. It is believed that this is a targeted event and the public is not at risk.

80 Avenue will be closed between Harvie Road and 188 Street for an unknown length of time.
