Highway 99 reopened after earlier collision

Please be advised that Highway 99 is now open to all southbound traffic.

Thank you to the public for their cooperation in avoiding the area and following the direction of the officers during the closure.

Motor Vehicle Collision with Road Closure- Highway 99 south of King George Hwy Exit near Crescent Road

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene at a motor vehicle collision in the South Surrey area.

On August 6th at approximately 9:30 pm, Surrey RCMP received numerous 911 calls for a vehicle travelling north bound in the south bound lanes of Highway 99.
Further callers advised that a multi-vehicle collision had occurred.

Traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined time as officers continue their investigation.

Highway 99 will be shut down for all south bound traffic and will be diverted off of the highway at the King George Blvd/Crescent Road exit.

The public are requested to avoid the area until further notice.
The investigation into the collision is in its early stages. Investigators are seeking witnesses who observed the collision, or who observed the vehicle prior to the collision, to contact the Surrey RCMP. Investigators are also seeking any available dash-cam video.

Luckily at this time all injuries appear to be minor in nature.
