Police investigate possible weapons possession in Whalley

Surrey RCMP is informing the public of the investigation of a male possibly in possession of a firearm in Whalley.

On April 9th, 2020, at 5:37 pm, police responded to a residence in the 9600 block of 137 Street after receiving a report of a male possibly in possession of a firearm. Attending officers were able to locate the male who was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

The area around the residence may remain closed off for some time as the investigation continues.

While this investigation is still in its early stages, initial indications are that this incident stems from an on-going dispute between parties known to one another.
