
Suspect charged in 2019 stabbing

Surrey RCMP is providing an update to the investigation of a 2019 stabbing at a banquet hall in Newton.
Charges have been laid against a 22 -year-old man in connection with a stabbing which occurred on February 15, 2019, at a banquet hall in the 8100-block of 128 Street in the Newton area (see previous release: February 19, 2019).
Following a fulsome investigation by the Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit, Karnvir Garcha, a 22-year-old Surrey resident has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm. Karnvir Garcha is currently in custody and will appear in court later this month.
