Update: Suspect identified in fatal pedestrian hit and run

Surrey RCMP is updating the public that a suspect has been identified in relation to a hit and run investigation that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

On December 16, 2022, police attended the 13300 block of Old Yale Road to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene. (see previous news release)

Tragically, the pedestrian, a 60-year-old female, did not survive her injuries.

On December 19, 2022, a suspect was identified in regards to this investigation. The suspect vehicle has been seized by Surrey RCMP for further investigation.

Charges have not yet been laid, and the investigation remains ongoing.
