Pedestrian struck by vehicle, Hit and Run

Surrey RCMP is informing the public of a collision involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, on December 16th, 2022, in the Whalley area of Surrey.

On December 16th at 4:51 PM, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle, in the 13300-block of Old Yale Road. The suspect vehicle, a Mint Green Dodge Caravan, was westbound on Old Yale Road when it struck the pedestrian. The vehicle was last seen fleeing westbound on Old Yale Road from the 133rd street intersection.

An adult female pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital with severe injuries.

Police are currently on scene canvassing for witnesses and video. Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage in the area of Old Yale Road from 132nd street to King George Boulevard between 4:45 PM and 5:15 PM, is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2022-190767.

Surrey RCMP is also asking motorists to avoid the area of Old Yale Road (100th avenue) in the area of City Centre Mall for the foreseeable future.
