House fire on Lochside Dr deemed suspicious

Police have arrested one suspect after a suspicious fire broke out in the 8900 block of Lochside Dr in Sidney, BC.

On July 31, 2024, just before 2:00 p.m., Sidney/North Saanich RCMP responded to the 8900 block of Lochside Dr in Sidney for a report of a residence on fire. The blaze required the response from North Saanich, Sidney and Central Saanich Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire was deemed suspicious and one suspect located and arrested at the scene.

The area was closed to traffic for a period of time to allow for police and fire investigators to collect evidence. The investigation remains ongoing and no further details are available at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931.
