Man charged in St. Paul park investigation

A man is facing charges after police were called to a park for a disturbance on St. Paul Street Tuesday afternoon.

On July 23, 2024, around 12:15 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a playground on the 200-block of St. Paul Street in response to the report, which involved a person who was allegedly throwing rocks and yelling at children.

Officers located and arrested a suspect, who was held in custody for a bail hearing, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He appeared in court yesterday and was remanded until his next court appearance, scheduled for this Friday, July 26.

Ali Bedjaoui, 46, is charged with mischief related to the interruption of use and enjoyment of a park, and cause a disturbance by throwing rocks and yelling.
