West Shore RCMP investigating sexual assault

The West Shore RCMP is currently investigating a report of a sexual assault of a woman by an unknown suspect that occurred on July 22, 2024 at approximately 11:00 p.m. at an apartment building located at 2763 Spencer Rd in Langford.

A woman was the victim of a sexual assault that took place in the stairwell inside the apartment building at the above location. The victim sustained injuries from the sexual assault and has received medical care.

The suspect is described as:

Male approximately 20-30 years of age;
Light coloured skin;
Approximately 5’7 to 5’9 tall;
Wearing a black hoodie with the hood up over his head and black pants

West Shore RCMP Special Victim’s Unit is investigating this crime. West Shore RCMP Forensic Identification Unit investigators are also engaged and additional officers have canvassed the apartment and surrounding area for witnesses and video surveillance.

Police are asking anyone who has home video surveillance or dash camera footage and resides within a 2-block radius of 2763 Spencer Rd to please contact West Shore RCMP by calling 250-474-2264.

As police do not know who the suspect is we are advising the occupants of the building and the public in the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately, said Cpl. Nancy Saggar West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
