Check well being

2024-1109

On June 5, 2024 a man in Lytton had called police in the early hours of the morning saying he was depressed and wanted to speak to someone, he felt like dying. An RCMP member attended and spoke with the man at length. The man was forthcoming and expressed he was depressed and not suicidal, he sought help for his addictions. He was informed police would reach out to get him additional resources in the morning, he went to bed. Additional resources were contacted to assist the man going forward.

Assault

2024-1120

On June 6, 2024 a man in Lillooet reported he had got into an altercation with another man near the food bank and claimed he was spat on and almost kicked. A RCMP member got a hold of the accused man who stated he was in the hospital with a cut lip due to being punched in the face by the other man, the caller. He did not seek charges and advised he would keep away from the other man. The caller was contacted and was also cautioned to keep away from the other man. The stories differed greatly and there were no serious injuries, nor was further action requested, thus no further police action was taken.

Missing person

2024-1124

On June 7, 2024 a caller in Lillooet reported his friend presumably went out mushroom picking up West Pavilion Forest Service Road (FSR) two days prior and he had not heard from him or could get a hold of him on his phone. It was unknown where the man had planned to go mushroom picking, thus patrols on West Pavilion FSR were unfruitful. The following day the man contacted police advising he was well, he was camping in his vehicle at an off-shoot road from West Pavilion FSR.

Mischief

2024-1174

On June 14, 2024 a woman in Lillooet called to report that her pickup truck was vandalized while parked in town. Someone smeared a sandwich across her door. The caller suspected her partners ex partner had done it. The caller was spoken to and informed without witnesses or any security cameras there was no proof to prove it. The caller understood and sought for the suspected culprit to be cautioned. A RCMP member spoke to the suspected culprit who denied the action, she advised she would keep away from the caller. The caller was updated and satisfied with the outcome.

Flight from police

2024-1192

On June 16, 2024 an RCMP member in Lillooet was conducting a traffic stop and observed a black motorcycle take a backroad to avoid driving by police. The RCMP member found it odd and repositioned to intercept the motorcycle. The motorcycle came by and manoeuvred around the police vehicle and sped away north on Main street. The motorcycle fled from police crossing double solid lines to pass vehicles on the road heading to Hollywood Crescent. Patrols made in the northern part of town (Hop farm) later were unfruitful. The driver was described as an older Caucasian man with white lengthy facial hair, wearing all black clothing, and a helmet with a visor on it. Patrols

On June 18, 2024 Lillooet RCMP members proactively patrolled the communities of Gold Bridge, Bralorne, Gun Lake, Tyaughton Lake, and Marshall Lake. Members interacted with numerous businesses and associations. There was one call for service generated after talking with a business owner who expressed concerns they had with another community member.

Break and enter

2024-1204

On June 19, 2024 in the early hours of the morning a man in Lillooet called and reported he believed someone was on the balcony of his house, trying the door handle. RCMP members attended and spoke with the man. The residence/property was checked and there were no signs of anyone around. The man showed potential signs of mental health concerns and he was allegedly on heavy prescriptions medications of recent. An Interior Health professional was contacted and a referral was made for the man.

Animal call

2024-1221

On June 21, 2024 a caller in Lytton reported an injured deer near Siska Reserve on Hwy 1. An RCMP member attended and located the deer who was still alive and suffering. The RCMP member was advised a local Siska Reserve Band member was en-route to dispatch the deer and remove it for sustenance. The RCMP member blocked the Hwy to allow for the deer to be put down and removed.
