File # 2024-16763

A youth got their bike back and a man has a court date, following a recent theft investigation by Kamloops police.

On June 2, 2024, around 3:30 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to a restaurant on the 500-block of Notre Dame Drive, where a youth had his bike stolen while he was inside.

Frontline officers attended the location and viewed images of two suspects, provided by the staff, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Luckily, an investigator recognized one of the suspects and set to work with other police officers on getting the bike back.

On June 5, 2024, the suspect was arrested and released with a court date. The bike was returned to the youth the next day. Charge recommendation is anticipated as part of the assessment and approval process.

Anyone with information that may be related to this ongoing investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-16763.
