Police investigating homicide in Surrey

IHIT has deployed to Surrey following a late-night homicide in the Port Kells neighbourhood.

On June 16, 2024 at approximately 10:00 pm, Surrey RCMP were called to a report of a woman with life-threatening injuries inside a residence near 9800-block of 182A Street, in Surrey, BC.

With assistance from the Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Service (PDS), members of the Surrey RCMP quickly located and arrested a man near the area.

The woman was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase and additional details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
