Shoplifting

2024-1009

On May 22, 2024 a local grocery store in Lillooet reported a woman had stolen a full grocery cart of items. The business reported the woman was seen going into a red hatchback from the video surveillance. The vehicle was located by Lillooet RCMP at a residence in town, however the woman was not present. The incident is currently under investigation.

Wildfire

2024-1022

On May 24, 2024 a report was received of a fire east of the Spences Bridge community near Drinkwater road and North of Pimainus Creek (on the east side of the Thompson River). BC Wildfires attended and were able to control the fire. The BC Wildfire associated number is K60395. Further information on the wildfire can be found on the BC Wildfire Service website with the associated number. There was no further police involvement apart from the initial report and initial patrols.

Shots fired

2024-1040

On May 27, 2024 a caller reported hearing what sounded like 3 rifle shots echoing through the valley near Seton Lake in Lillooet. Lillooet RCMP attended the area and made patrols, there were no further shots heard, nor any individuals or vehicles seen in the area. The caller was updated on the patrols made and advised the noises possibly echoed through the valley from near by crown lands (spring hunting season was open).

Assault

2024-1065

On May 30, 2024 Lytton RCMP received a 911 hang up call from a residence near Lytton. Members attended and learned there was a domestic disturbance between two partners. A woman had small scratches on her face and advised when she was trying to leave her boyfriend following an argument, he allegedly made attempts to block her from leaving leading to the injuries. The boyfriend was located and arrested for assault and released on a court date with conditions not to contact her. The matter is still under investigation.

Animal call

2024-1069

On May 31, 2024 a caller in Lillooet reported seeing a bear cub climb up a telephone pole across Main Street by 9th avenue. The caller was concerned for the public as the mother bear was possibly around. BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) were notified. A Lillooet RCMP member made patrols in the area but no bears were seen. The caller was updated.

Assault with weapon

2024-1093

On June 2, 2024 a man attended the Lillooet RCMP detachment and reported he was hit by a vehicle at a parking stall by Conway park. He stated he was standing by/facing his own vehicle when his knee buckled as a vehicle pulling into the parking spot next to him made contact with him. The man wished for police to speak to the alleged driver of the vehicle. Police spoke with the alleged driver who denied making contact with the man with her vehicle. The matter was documented to the complainant’s satisfaction with no further actions requested.

Break and Enter

2024-1095

On June 3, 2024 a man reported when he was returning to his residence on Russell Lane in Lillooet around 4:30 am earlier in the day, he saw a man leaving his apartment. He attempted to chase the man down, he described him as being a 6’2 Caucasian man wearing a facemask and a hoodie with a red coat. Several items were taken from his residence including a Toshiba laptop. There were no security cameras in the area, nor any other witnesses. He reported the incident to police as he was advised by his landlord to do so. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet-Lytton RCMP file 2024-1095.

Assault with a weapon

2024-1098

On June 3, 2024 Lytton RCMP members received a call of man who had been drinking a lot of alcohol over the weekend and allegedly threatening family members in the house with sharp objects. Police attended the residence in Lytton and learned that the man had also allegedly pointed a firearm at a family member. The man eventually came out of the house to police commands and attempted to gain access to one of the vehicles in the driveway. He was immediately arrested and handcuffed by police for pointing a firearm, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon. The matter is still under investigation and all offences listed are alleged/have not been proven in court at this time.
