On May 31, 2024, RCMP attended a homeless camp near the area of the 4300 block of Lakelse Ave, Terrace, where a significant amount of drugs and weapons had been previously seized only one week prior (Terrace File 2024-4162).

On this second visit to the camp, a number of people were detained after police observed weapons about the area. During further search of the area, additional weapons, cell phones, cash and suspected drugs were located and seized. All items seized have been submitted for civil forfeiture.

Police wish to again remind the public to be aware of their surroundings when out walking and hiking and not to approach areas that have the potential to be unsafe.
