On Tuesday March 5, 2024 Cayoosh Elementary School Grade's 1 & 2 classes visited the Lillooet RCMP detachment as a field trip.

Local member Cst Kendrick Ultra facilitated the tour of the detachment. Cst Ultra spoke with the students about the different jobs within the RCMP and how they serve/assist communities. The students were shown some of the tools the RCMP use like the spike belt, the uniform vest, and the RCMP taser. The students learned about fingerprints and how they can assist police with investigations. Cst Ultra also showed the students the prisoner cells and an RCMP police car.

At the end of their field trip, the students received goody-bags that contained a colouring book that taught about safety in school and at home, a finger printing kit, and various other toys all supplied by the RCMP.

Cst Ultra stated It was a delight having the class field trip at the Lillooet RCMP detachment and to show the students a glimpse of what policing is like.
