Who to call?

The BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) is the lead agency for dealing with wildlife calls, reports can be made to 1-877-952-7277 for wildlife related concerns including wolf sightings in town. Lillooet-Lytton RCMP can be contacted if there are any immediate public safety concerns regarding wildlife.

Statement from BC Conservation Officer Connor Bain:

Due to recent wolf sightings in Lillooet, the COS (BC Conservation Officer Service) is encouraging the public to keep all pets and livestock secured when possible. Wolves are territorial animals and have a very large habitat range, it is common to see/hear wolves in rural areas. The main natural food source for wolves are large ungulates such as deer and moose. Please do not approach and feed any wolves or other wildlife and report any urban sightings to the Report a Poacher and Polluter hotline 1-877-952-7277.
