On Wednesday, December 6 2023, Masset RCMP received a report of a break and enter at Frontier Cannabis Store located on Main Street in the community.

Investigation show that suspect(s) had gained entry from breaking the main entrance window stealing approximately $2500.00 worth of Provincially Licensed Cannabis Products.

With the assistance of evidence gained from the scene including security footage and information from the public, two suspects were identified.

Following up with the potential suspects lead to further information leading to their arrest and a search warrant being authorized for a residence in Masset on Saturday, December 9, 2023. During the search, police located and seized a large quantity of the stolen cannabis products.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspects were released from custody pending a court date in March of 2024.

The Masset RCMP greatly appreciate the support received by the community for this investigation and hope that continued community vigilance will prevent further incidents from occurring and encourage community members to report crimes to police or Crime Stoppers helping lead to safer communities for all said Cpl. Evan Hobbs, Masset RCMP.
