Local Lake Country RCMP officer, Cst. Kerri Parish and her children, Mitchell and Jake are preparing for the lighting of the Lake Country Star on December 1st at 4pm and will be seeking donations for The Lake Country Food Bank, Cram the Cruiser event occurring on December 2. Mitchell and Jake with the help of a friend, started the Lake Country Star on Spion Kop Mountain, in December 2020 as way to give back to the community of Lake Country during COVID 19 in the hopes their actions would help lift the spirits of the residents of Lake County during those times of uncertainty. This year, Mitchell and Jake are expanding their community spirit by making 3d printed limited edition Lake Country Star ornaments that are available for a minimum donation of $10 or by making a toy donation. All of the money and toys will then be donated to the Lake Country Food Bank to continue lifting spirits of those in need this holiday season. The boys will be at Apex park for the light up Dec 1st from 5-6pm to share the in the light up and accept any donations

This is just an excellent example of the community spirit, involvement and dedication our officers and their families show in the community of Lake Country and every other community served by members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police says Cpl. Ryder Birtwistle, Media Relations Officer for Lake Country Detachment.
