Mischief

2023-2251

On October 10, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report from Ministry of Children and Families, someone had slashed the rear passenger tire to one of there vehicles, a grey 2017 Nissan Rogue. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-2251.

Traffic incident

2023-2249

On October 10, 2023 a man called and reported on behalf of his colleague who had driven a minivan on the Highline Road and learned it was not a road for minivans to travel on. The man's colleague had bounced his vehicle off of a couple of rock faces, it was likely totaled. The vehicle was left there. A tow out of Pemberton was suggested. The matter was referred to ICBC.

Assault + theft of motor vehicle

On October 13, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received reports of a woman being assaulted on Main Street. Lillooet RCMP attended to a non-cooperative man leaving the area on foot. Lillooet RCMP located the victim and witnesses further down the road, they stated the man who had left had assaulted the victim and tried to steal her truck, statements were obtained. Later in the day the victim reported her truck was stolen from a public parking lot in town. A full investigation was conducted, patrols were unfruitful for the suspect. On October 14, 2023 a BC Conservation Officer come across the vehicle with the suspect who asked him for a jumpstart. The Conservation Officer learned the vehicle was stolen after a passer by had informed him such. The suspect became highly agitated and un-cooperative. Ashcroft RCMP and Clinton RCMP attended and assisted in arresting the un-cooperative suspect. He was held in police custody and brought before a judge the following day. Lillooet RCMP completed an amalgamated report to crown counsel for the file. The accused was remanded (held in custody) until his next court date.

The suspect is facing a total of 5 Criminal Code charges; Assault, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Failure to Comply with Order (2 counts), and Obstruct Peace Officer.

Assault with a weapon + mischief

On October 13, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of multiple men breaking something outside the Miyzaki Heritage House. A witness reported observing a man using an axe causing damage to a fence and to a vehicle window while also trying to provoke another man into a fight. The man wielding the axe was arrested for Mischief and Assault with a Weapon and later released on a court date. The file is still under investigation, charges are yet to be recommended to the BC prosecution Service.

Robbery with weapon

2023-2286

On October 13, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of a Robbery that had occurred 5 minutes prior at the Lillooet IDA Pharmacy. A man entered the store, flashed a crowbar at an employee and took cash from the cash register and subsequently departed on foot. The suspect was described as wearing a large blue denim jacket, a light blue long sleeve underneath, a purple bandana over his face, black glasses, dark pants. Check well being

2023-2307

On October 16, 2023 a caller requested a check well being on a man who had made Facebook posts about wanting to kill himself. Lillooet RCMP attended and spoke with the man who advised he had no such intentions, he admitted to drinking, he had since removed the Facebook posts, he stated he was feeling down grieving the loss of some of his friends who passed away. Family members were advised and attended his residence to spend the night with him as requested by him. There were no further concerns.

Assault

2023-2335

On October 19, 2023 a woman called police and reported her boyfriend had assaulted her and was throwing furniture at there residence. Lillooet RCMP attended, a statement was obtained from the woman, the boyfriend was not present. The matter is still under investigation.

Check-stop program

On October 20, 2023 Lillooet RCMP and Tribal police conducted a vehicle check-stop in town. Tribal Police located one impaired driver. Approximately 50 vehicles were stopped and checked for sobriety and license/insurance information. No other infractions were observed.

Assault

On October 21, 2023 BC Ambulance Service informed Lillooet RCMP a woman had requested an ambulance after being assaulted. Lillooet RCMP attended and spoke with the woman who was un cooperative with police but blurted she had been beat by her partner. Lillooet RCMP arrested her partner for assault and released him on a court date with conditions not to contact her. The file is still under investigation.
