RCMP apprehend a man following a Directors Warrant being issued

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Fort St John RCMP apprehended an adult man as a Directors Warrant had been issued.
When police attended the man’s residence he was initially cooperative but rapidly escalated to being physically and verbally non-cooperative and displayed violent and combative behaviour towards the police officers.
When de-escalation attempts proved to be unsuccessful, police used different intervention options in an effort to gain control of the situation in keeping with the safety of everyone involved.
The man was taken to hospital and doctors say there appears to be no obvious physical injuries. He remains in hospital at this time for any treatment he may require and could face charges of assault police officer.
