In the early morning hours of Monday, June 19, 2023, Masset RCMP responded to a 911 call in the 200 block of Eagle Avenue in the community of Old Masset, BC. A woman was heard yelling someone was in her house with a gun.

Police immediately attended and found the house locked and nobody appeared to be home. Through investigation, police quickly discover that an occupant of the house, a 30-year-old man, was at the local hospital receiving treatment for a possible gunshot wound.

Masset RCMP are familiar with the residence and know one of the occupants to be involved in the local drug trade.

This appears to have been targeted and police do not believe there to be any further threat to the public. Police look to the public for any information in this ongoing investigation. If you have any information regarding this matter, call the Masset RCMP at (250) 626-3991 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477.
