Drive while prohibited

On May 24 at 9:30am Lillooet RCMP stopped a vehicle roadside and the driver admitted to not having a driver’s licence. The man was discovered to be prohibited from driving. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 7 days, and the man was issued a future court date to speak to the allegations.

Animal call

On May 24 at 12pm Lillooet RCMP were advised of a black bear in the McEwen Rd area. Police attended and located a juvenile bear; however, it did not appear to be bothering anyone. BC Conservation and District of Lillooet were both notified. The district put out a Voyent alert.

On May 26 Lillooet RCMP were advised of a black bear at the BC Hydro Seton Lake campground on Hwy 99. Police attended however the bear had departed. One camper showed police a photo of a juvenile bear rummaging through food left on a picnic table at the campground. BC Conservation was advised.

Break and enter

On May 25 a man reported his 2007 red Arctic Cat ATV was stolen from the McEwen Rd area. Video surveillance showed the ATV being stolen on May 23 at 5am. Picture of identical ATV – if seen please call police. The file is under further investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-1056.

On June 2 at 1:30am a liquor store in the 600 block of Main St was broken into. Police are seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects. See previous media release.

Found property

On May 30 a man turned in a cell phone found near Pavilion Lake. Owner may claim with detailed description within 90 days. Please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-1088.

On June 7 a man turned in a set of keys found near 6th Ave and Main St. Owner may claim with detailed description within 90 days. Please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-1142.

Impaired driving

On June 6 at 11am Lillooet RCMP stopped a vehicle to assess driver sobriety. The male driver admitted to consuming alcohol at 7am. Police conducted a breath demand where the driver blew a WARN. A second sample was obtained where the driver blew a WARN for a second time. The man was prohibited from driving for 3 days.

On June 6 at 4pm Lillooet RCMP stopped a vehicle to assess driver sobriety and check for valid driver’s licence. Police conducted a breath demand where the driver blew a WARN. The man was offered the right to provide a second breath sample, which was declined. The man was prohibited from driving for 3 days.
