Road closure on 96 Ave between 132 Street and 134 Street

Surrey RCMP is advising the public of road closures 96 Avenue between 132 Street and 134 Street as a result of a single vehicle collision.

On June 4, 2023, at approximately 1:12 a.m. a Surrey RCMP member witnessed and responded to a single vehicle collision in the 13300-block of 96 Avenue. The vehicle struck and sheered a pole, which resulted in a power outage in the area. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and attempts to locate the driver were unsuccessful. The investigation remains ongoing.

96 Avenue between 132 Street and 134 Street has been closed in both directions to all traffic. Police are requesting people plan ahead, avoid the area and use alternate routes. It is unknown how long the closures will remain in effect.
