On January 27th, 2023, at approximately 08:45 a.m., a student of Morfee Elementary School, in Mackenzie, BC, observed a man and woman arguing beside a small red car.

The car was parked close to the school’s playground.

As the student walked past the couple, he believed they may have been yelling at him. The student wasn’t able to determine what the couple was saying, except for hearing the man say Hey kid, come here. The student replied, Me?, to which the man replied, Yes, come here.

The student, who was understandably upset, did not speak further with the couple, and simply ran inside the school and alerted staff.

RCMP conducted extensive foot and vehicle patrols to locate the couple, but weren’t able to find it, or the couple.

The man was described as: Tanned skin, 30-40 years of age.

The woman was described as: Wearing a grey jacket, 30-40 years of age.

The vehicle was small, and red in colour.

RCMP do not believe this incident is related to the suspicious occurrence reported on March 9th, 2023, see previous release.

The Mackenzie RCMP encourages all children and their guardians to report suspicious occurrences to them, or school staff.
