File # 2017 Unsolved crimes in Nanaimo

1. Nanaimo file # 2017-36112 Sometime between October 24th and October 26th an outboard motor was taken from the backyard at 535 Townsite Road. The motor is a grey high thrust 2012 Yamaha 8hp with serial # 60SL102641.

2. Nanaimo file # 2017-36116 Sometime overnight an outboard motor was taken from a boat stored in the front of a home in the 2300 Autumnwood Drive. The motor is a 30 hp Tohatsu, Longshaft Tillar, no serial number available.

3. Nanaimo file # 2017-36134 Sometime on Thursday October 26th a break in was reported at a new condo development on Currie Place. Suspect(s) entered through an unlocked sliding glass door and made off with a new sink faucet and microwave. Thieves tried unsuccessfully to steal a washer/drier set and fridge as both were pulled out from their mountings.

4. Nanaimo file # 2017-36177 Sometime overnight on Thursday October 26th a Stihl HF45 trimmer was taken from the from the backyard of a home in the 1800 block of Northfield Road.

5. Nanaimo file # 2017-36313 On Friday October 27th between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm at least three vehicles parked on College Drive were broken into. All three vehicles had a rock thrown through one of their windows and were then ransacked. The owners had parked their cars in the area while attending VIU. Motorists are reminded to ensure any and all valuables are out of sight as thieves will take anything that can be seen.

6. Nanaimo file # 2017-36442 Sometime overnight on Friday October 27th three truck batteries were taken from the BC Ferries Warehouse located at 4300 East Wellington Road. The batteries were taken from work trucks parked in the lot.

7. Nanaimo file # 2017-36455 On Saturday October 28th between 8am and 9:45 am a vehicle parked in the parking lot of 1925 Bowen Road was broken into. Taken was a black Burton packsack containing ID, jewellery and make up.

8. Nanaimo file # 2017- 36690 Sometime overnight on Monday October 30th a 1996 GMC flatdeck trailer with a tandem axel and BC plate # 62488B was stolen from 76 Centennial Drive.

9. Nanaimo file # 2017-36630 Sometime within the last two days and reported on Sunday October 29th a mountain bike was stolen from a shed located at 90 Kerr St. Thieves cut the chain off securing the shed then made off with a silver, black and blue Kona Dawg with serial # H3L08293.
