Theft of money suspect

The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying one of two males who allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from a Nanaimo business. The theft occurred on Monday October 16, 2017 at approximately 4:45 pm from Claytree Enterprises, located at 838 Victoria Road.

Employees of the business told police two males (one has been identified) entered the business and engaged an employee in conversation. While the employee was distracted the other male walked around the counter and took a pouch which contained the money. He then stuffed it inside his jacket and walked out with it. The two suspects then left the business and were seen getting in a white vehicle. The theft was only confirmed when video surveillance was reviewed and confirmed the pouch had been taken.

The male shown in the attached photo is in his mid-twenties, approximately 5 ft. 9, medium build and has short dark hair. He is possibly a First Nations male.
