Stolen batStolen bats Kirby's Source for Sports

Just before 5 am on Wednesday May 3, 2017 Kirby's Source for Sports on Bowen Road was broken into and a number of unique wooden baseball bats were stolen.

Officers attended to an alarm at the business and upon arrival found the front door smashed in and a crowbar lying nearby. A property representative attended and told investigators 9 wooden bats were missing. 6 of the bats were B45’s and the other 3 were Louisville Sluggers. Also missing were 8 bright red and 4 black Under Armour football receiver gloves.

There are only twenty B45 wooden bats in all of British Columbia. More expensive bats and items were not taken so it is likely the thieves grabbed what they could and left with an arm load of bats and gloves,  said Constable Gary O'Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP. This is the first break in to the business in 4 years.
