File # 2015-181870

Surrey RCMP is appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who broke into a home, assaulted a resident and then fled.

On December 24, 2015 at approximately 2:30pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a report that a person had been assaulted in their residence near 72 Avenue and 132 Street. Two males were observed fleeing on foot from the residence.

When police arrived it was determined that the two males had approached the residence from the back alley way and knocked on the door. When the resident opened the door he was immediately assaulted with a blunt instrument and forced back into the home. The resident fought the intruders and forced them out of the residence. The resident received injuries to his head which required stiches. A second person in the home was not injured.

Images of the two suspects were caught on a surveillance camera. They are described as black males, 20 to 23 years of age, 5’6 tall, wearing all black clothing with black hoodies and light coloured shoes, and one may have been wearing a balaclava. One of the men appears to have fur outlining his hoodie and may be wearing a toque underneath.

Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for this attack and are hoping the release of this photo and information may help to trigger someone’s memory from that day and identify the suspects.

Even the smallest bit of information that might seem trivial may be the key piece of information that will help identify these persons and result in two dangerous people being held to account for their actions, says Sgt. Paul Hayes.
