Since 1951, the RCMP has been contracted to provide municipal policing to the City of Surrey. The Surrey RCMP aims to provide a sensitive, responsive, professional policing service for all Surrey communities. Assistant Commissioner Dwayne McDonald is the Officer in Charge of the Surrey detachment.

Surrey has the largest RCMP detachment in Canada with over 1,000 police officers, municipal employees, and volunteers. Five district offices, located across the city, deliver a variety of community policing and crime prevention programs. The main detachment is the hub for general duty policing, support units and specialized investigative teams.

The RCMP is committed to ensuring Safe Homes and Safe Communities for all those who live and work in Surrey. Our goal is to work in cooperation with the community to enhance the liveability of the city.
