Traffic Services Section
Officers assigned to the Prince George Municipal Traffic Section are responsible for conducting enforcement of both the Criminal Code and the various provincial statutes, related to driving. They are responsible for investigating motor vehicle collisions, including serious and fatal collisions within the City of Prince George. They provide education to the public through partnership with the media.
Prince George Municipal Traffic is focused on two Unit Objectives to increase road safety:
- Apprehend impaired drivers and conduct criminal investigations of the highest quality;
- Reduce collisions at select high-frequency locations, through targeted enforcement.
They use intelligence-led policing strategies to deploy resources appropriately. They are dedicated to improving road safety, by selectively targeting the five major contributing factors to serious injury and fatal collisions:
- Impaired driving;
- Distracted driving;
- Intersection-related violations.
