Sooke RCMP has arrested two individuals following a drug trafficking investigation.

On February 1, 2024, Sooke RCMP received information about possible drug activity in a parking lot in the 6700 block of West Coast Rd in Sooke. Police responded to the area and located the two suspects matching the description provided.

Both individuals, a 58-year-old man of Esquimalt and 48-year-old woman of no fixed address, were arrested. A subsequent search incidental to their arrest yielded approximately 2 lbs of suspected methamphetamine, over 80 suspected Dilaudid pills and a small bag of suspected cocaine.

The prompt arrests of those individuals were possible due to the watchful eye of a concerned citizen said Staff Sergeant Greg Willcocks, detachment commander of the Sooke RCMP. The Sooke detachment will continue to target drug traffickers and prolific offenders in our community.

The individuals were released pending a further court date as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241.
