Police catch two thieves in action

On November 18th, 2017 at approximately 2:50am West Shore RCMP responded to a report of two suspicious people in the back of a house in Colwood trying to steal a utility trailer from the driveway of the home.

Police arrived and the two suspects tried to run away but were caught after a short foot pursuit with West Shore Police Officers. The two suspects were arrested and held in custody, both are known to Police. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed stolen property belonging to the homeowner.

The homeowner did a great job of calling the police and providing us with timely information which lead to the arrest of the two suspects. Both suspects were actively engaged in criminal acts we got them off the streets says Cst. Matt Baker of the West Shore RCMP.

Justin Goeujon, 33 years old, of Sooke and Crystal Thorne, 24 years old, of Nanaimo were arrested and charged with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. Thorne was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Victoria. Trial date not yet set.
