Truck rams into pole, driver arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and impaired driving

On January 26 at approximately 2:30 p.m., the West Shore RCMP received multiple reports of a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck driving erratically near Florence Lake Rd in Langford. Within minutes of the initial calls to police, the dodge ram had collided with a light pole near the 3000 block of Leigh Rd.

West Shore RCMP Frontline Officers responded. The driver, identified as a 29-year-old male, was suspected of being impaired by drugs and was arrested for dangerous operation and impaired driving of a motor vehicle. He was released by way of an Undertaking with an upcoming court date regarding the dangerous and impaired driving as well as a 90-day driving prohibition.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and suffered non-life-threatening injuries for which he received medical care. West Shore RCMP thanks the multiple witnesses who called police to report this dangerous driving right away. We are continuing to investigate the additional reports received,
