Police incident on Walfred Rd - Suspect arrested

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Feb 25 the West Shore RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence near the 700 block of Walfred Rd in Langford.

Police responded immediately however the suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival. Police believed the suspect was in possession of a firearm and was in the forested area between Walfred Rd and Latoria Rd. There was a heavy police presence in this area as officers set up containment to track the suspect.

West Shore RCMP officers along with officers from the Emergency Police Response Team, West Shore Police Dog Service and Air support from RCMP Air 1, worked together to locate the suspect. The suspect has been located and arrested and remains in police custody.

We thank the public for their patience and for avoiding the area while we worked. The investigation is ongoing and there will be no further comments at this time.
