Drug trafficking suspects arrested, cash, drugs and weapons seized by West Shore RCMP Drugs & Organized Crime Unit

The West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit executed multiple search warrants and arrested several suspects for drug trafficking.

The investigation began in December 2022, when Drug Unit officers identified two suspects whom they believed were trafficking drugs throughout the Greater Victoria area. The suspects were operating from two residences, one in Langford and another in Victoria.

On January 13th 2023, with the assistance from the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and the Victoria Police Department, the West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit executed several search warrants in relation to this investigation. Police searched both residences and a vehicle driven by one of the suspects uncovering evidence of drug trafficking.

Police seized approximately $9000 cash, quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, crack-cocaine and thousands of unmarked pills (that are being tested to determine their exact content), 24 ounces of powder that is suspected to be steroids. Officers also seized an extendable baton, bear spray and 3 replica firearms including an MP5, and 2 hand guns.

This investigation and the seizure of these drugs will impact the drug trade in the Greater Victoria area. We want to thank the many West Shore RCMP officers as well as the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team who assisted in ensuring the safe execution of these warrants, said Cpl. Kevin Pollock, in charge of West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit.

Two suspects identified as 24 and 28-year-old male residents of Langford, were arrested for Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking. The suspects were released from custody and charges against them are expected following the completion of the investigation.
