Police investigating confirmed shooting

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene following a shooting that has sent one person to hospital.
On February 2, 2024 at 1:33 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of shots fired in the 8400 block of 120 Street. Frontline officers attended the scene and located a man who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
At approximately 2:07 p.m., Surrey RCMP were notified of a vehicle fire in the 9900 block of 179 Street. Further investigation is required to link the two incidents.
Road closures are currently in effect northbound from 84 Avenue to 82 Avenue and eastbound 120 Street to 122 Street. Police are asking the public to take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit (GIU) has conduct of both investigations and are in the evidence gathering phase.
