Fatal pedestrian hit and run

Surrey RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in a fatal hit and run that occurred on January 27, 2024 in the 13400 block of 105 Avenue in Surrey.

On January 27, 2024 at approximately 1:43 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian hit and run in the 13400 block of 105 Avenue. Witnesses described seeing a red Ford Mustang strike a pedestrian and leave the scene without stopping to render assistance. Surrey RCMP were able to quickly locate the vehicle and three occupants are currently in police custody.

Surrey RCMP located the pedestrian several blocks away suffering from severe injuries. BC Ambulance attended however, the pedestrian was declared deceased at scene.

Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision. The incident is still in the early investigative stages and police expect road closures in the 13400 block area of 105 Avenue throughout the night and into the day. Commuters are being asked to plan alternative routes.
