Fatal pedestrian hit and run under investigation

Update (2020-05-21, 12:40 pm): Surrey RCMP investigators have completed their on-scene investigative activities in response to the fatal pedestrian involved collision that was reported at approximately 3:30 am. As such, the roads in the area of 115 Avenue and 132 Street are no longer closed.

Surrey RCMP is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian involved hit and run collision in the Whalley area.

On May 21, 2020, at approximately 3:30 am, Surrey RCMP was advised by Emergency Health Services of an unconscious man in the middle of roadway at the intersection of 115 Avenue and 132 Street. Despite all efforts to save the man’s life, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The involved vehicle and driver did not remain at the scene of the collision.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team, and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service have taken conduct of the investigation and are expected to be in the area for several hours. The area is currently closed to traffic.
