Serious injury motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians

Surrey RCMP is currently on the scene of a serious injury motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians in the Newton area of Surrey.
On December 8, 2017 at 7:37pm two pedestrians were struck while crossing the street at 128th Street and 80th Avenue in a marked crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Both pedestrians have been transported to local hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
West bound on 80th Avenue is currently closed to traffic at 128th Street. North and South bound on 128th Street are currently one lane in each direction on approach to 80th Avenue.
Traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined amount of time as the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) continues the investigation.
