File # 2017-106693
On August 1st, 2017 at approximately 8:00pm, Surrey RCMP was advised of a three vehicle motor vehicle collision where one vehicle was overturned and on fire in the area of 64th Avenue near 127A Street.
Upon attendance, officers learned that a grey Toyota 4-Runner, driven by a 22 year old male from Surrey, was westbound on 64th Avenue when it was rear-ended by a Black Chrysler 300 driven by a 33 year old male from Surrey. After impact the 4-Runner went off road right, rolled onto its side and caught fire. The Chrysler 300 continued westbound and collided with a third vehicle, a Cadillac Escalade, being driven by a 42 year old female resident of Surrey.
Surrey Fire Services extinguished the fire and the driver of the 4-Runner was transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Service with minor injuries. All other drivers remained at the scene.
This incident is still presently under investigation. Speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as contributing factors. 64th Avenue was closed on either side of 127A Street but has now been reopened for eastbound traffic.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or go to www.solvecrime.ca.
