Fire investigation locates body

On January 29th at approximately 7:00am, Surrey RCMP attended a residence in the 10800 block of 132nd Street to assist Surrey Fire Services at the scene of a fire in outbuildings of the backyard.

A short time later, a deceased male was located in one of the buildings.

Neither the cause of the fire or the death have been confirmed. BC Coroners Service has been notified. The identity of the deceased is not known at this point. No further details are available.

Officers are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for further information. Surrey RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is currently investigating and more details will be released as they become available.
