Found body – 3600 Block of 176 Street

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene following a report of a found body in South Surrey.
At approximately 2:50pm this afternoon, Surrey RCMP received a report of a found body in the ditch in the 3600 block of 176th Street. The body was located by pedestrians walking on 176th Street.
Upon police attendance, a deceased person was located. The cause of death has not been confirmed. It appears that the body has been in the water for some time. Surrey RCMP’s Major Crime Unit along with the LMD Forensic Identification Section (FIS) and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) have been requested to begin this investigation. While this investigation is at a very early stage, there is no information that this incident is related to any other ongoing investigations at this time. No further details are available at this time.
176th Street has been closed at 32 Avenue for northbound traffic and may remain closed for some time. An update will be put out when the road is reopened.
