File # 2016-81580

Surrey RCMP has arrested three individuals for a dangerous driving incident yesterday evening.

On June 9th at approximately 7:40pm, Surrey RCMP officers observed a grey Toyota Camry driving erratically in the City Centre area of Surrey. The vehicle was driving into ongoing traffic, failing to stop for red lights, and driving at high rates of speed.

Police did not attempt to pursue the vehicle as following the vehicle would have put the motoring public at risk, however Air One was able to quickly locate the vehicle and follow it. Air One tracked the vehicle until it pulled into an underground parking garage in the 10300 block of 152 Street, when members of the Surrey RCMP, Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team, and Integrated Police Dog Services were able to locate and arrest the three occupants.

The Toyota Camry was also involved in a dangerous driving and road rage incident on June 8th where the complainant advised that a firearm may have been produced by one of the occupants. On that evening, Surrey RCMP officers located the vehicle and attempted to pull the vehicle over, however the Camry drove into ongoing traffic at a high rate of speed and was subsequently lost from sight of police.

Surrey RCMP is asking anyone who may have observed either of these incidents to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
